The handling charge is to cover the cost of the foam insulation board I use to protect cabinets and minimize the size of the box. Because of the size of this item, my total length plus girth cannot be more than 108 in. & this is pretty close to that, so the only option I have is the more expensive packing method which does cut the cost of shipping by not going into the oversized category. The doors were an afterthought that a family member made. They are not part of the original cabinet, but of course they do convey to you. The bottoms of the doors show where they were cut. These were hollow kitchen cabinet doors I assume.
