Description
For sale is a new old stock spool of KANTHAL A-1 resistance wire, 36 Brown & Sharp gauge, left behind in the electronics components inventory of my late father, who was an active HAM operator for 73 years, and was a radio and other electronics serviceman for much of his life. This spool was in a cabinet, in a dry, smoke-free home, The box, however, shows wear just from moving around in storage (see photos). The weight of the wire on the spool is .87 pounds. I find on line that one pound of #36AWG resistance wire is 16,447 feet. I figure that .87 of that would be 14,308 feet. I find also that current price for 1000 feet is more or less, and 14.3 times that is about 7.50. At least that gives me a "ballpark" for pricing. (Let me know if my math doesn't work out.)
I hope that this is great vintage wire that you can use... new, and still in the original box!!
Thanks for looking here!!
