Marked Chinese Yixing Teapot with Dragon
MINT CONDITION - NEVER USED - ORIGINAL INFO TAG
The Dragon Head at the top moves in and out a little - like a turtle in his shell - I'm guessing that steam comes out his mouth (but I've never used the pot, so it is only a guess - but it does seem that is the steam-release point.)
The dragon etching on each side are slightly different angles of a dragon's head
5" long spout to handle
3" tall with lid
Mid 20th Century Chinese faceted globular formed Yixing teapot. The lid has a very nice dragon-head which comes out when pouring the tea! The finial is shaped as double ruyi. Marked at the underside of the lid with a 3 character mark. At both sides 2 carvings; one carving of a fish and one carving of a dragon. Very nice color and patina! This is a good quality Yixing teapot, and in very fine condition!
