    Description

This stunning porcelain tea set was purchased in China.  Part of the "Water Point Peach Blossom" series, it was manufactured in the city of Jingdezhen, China.
    This city
    is known as the "
    Porcelain
Capital" because it has been producing
    Chinese ceramics
for at least 1,000 years, and for much of that period
    Jingdezhen porcelain
was the most important and finest quality in China.
The 10 piece set consists of a teapot and cover, 6 Chinese tea cups, and a
tea pitcher or chahai (used to ensure the consistency of the tea flavor) with cover.
The porcelain is bright white and translucent when held up to light.  The pattern shows brightly colored quails resting in branches of peach blossoms.  All of the pieces are signed on the bottom, and there is writing in Mandarin on the reverse of the pieces.
The teapot measures 8" wide by 4" in diameter, by 4 1/2" tall.  The teacups measure 2 1/2" wide by 2" tall.  The chahai measures 4 1/2" wide by 4" tall.
The box cover has an elaborate description written in Mandarin.
This lovely set has never been used and comes in its original presentation box.  It is in perfect condition.
    Thanks for your interest.
