Duncan & Miller Glass Co:
The Company was initially known as Geo. Duncan’s Sons & Co., and the period from 1893 to the closing of the plant in 1955 is generally known as the Duncan-Miller period. The Company differentiated itself through exceptional artistry and design by employing highly skilled workers and using unique formulas to produce colorful glass. The production process for each piece usually required 10 craftsmen. 1955 saw the use of the name Duncan & Miller come to a close as the firm became part of the United States Glass Company. In total, the Duncan & Miller legacy of glass manufacture encompassed an impressive 115 years.
DETAILS:
~ Collection of (3) Glass Dishes in D & M’s Early American Sandwich Pattern #41 made from 1924 to 1955.
~ Low Comport Bowl with a wide scalloped top: 3” tall, 4-3/8” top, 2.75” footed base; Excellent vintage condition, no damage detected
~ (2) small Tidbit/Low Comport Plates with silver metal feet: Both are 6” in diameter with 2.5” feet, but the plate with the flower center is 1.5” tall & the other is 1-3/8”; Both are in great vintage condition with very minor wear (no chips or breaks). One does have some discoloration on the underside of the foot as seen in photo 5 - not seen unless you flip it over.
