If your like most of us TT drivers that broken glove box lock is driving you crazy..... I have developed a replacement to the lock cylinder which will hold the factory trim and allow you to operate the latch.(u.s. models both quattro and non) The glove box will not lock but it will look good and function. This is a DYI repair no mechanic needed no drilling or extra screws. Or you can spend 0 having a new glove box installed. Patent papers are filed. Your buying the lock replacement only NO LATCH OR HANDLE is included you need your old handle. This is a decorative lock replacement ONLY.
Here is how john fixed the poping open problem It was a matter of carving out the holes the plastic rods that lock the box go in to. They are beveled and do not need to be. I actually snapped off the little covers for each hole and used a blade to open them up and de-bevel them. It's fine. Was driving me nuts for over a week. Thanks for your quick response. John W.
