Description
1939 FIRESTONE TIRE Brochure, New York World's Fair, 28 pages, Automobile Car28 pages showing tires being manufactured in their World's Fair building for an audience, pictures of their factories, rubber plantations in Africa, new housing for African employees (I guess they must've started getting bad press about plantation conditions by then), foam rubber bedding, Firestone stores, radios, and their own radio show. I knew about their radios, but didn't realize they were at this level of mega corporation.
I grew up watching the MGM cartoon of "The Car of Tomorrow," which had to've been directly influenced by these exhibits at the '39 World's Fair. Great stuff. If I manage to hop in a DeLorean back to 1939, aside from checking out my hometown and seeing a few Pirates games at Forbes Field, I think I would've gotten a ticket to NY to see the World's Fair. It must've been incredible.
No tears, sharp corners, bright colors. Please look carefully at the photos
